Happy Holidays!

Hey guys! It was super great to skype with you and see you on christmas! Totally made my day! Also shout out to Cam for getting your patriarchal blessing. I remember getting mine and it has really been a blessing to me. At the time especially it answered a ton of questions/concerns I had and continues to be a comfort to me every time I read it.

This week was just a blast! The members really took care of us this year! We had an appointment with members everyday this week! It was just super great to just hygge with them all day 8) Also our investigator Lise is still on track to be baptized this Saturday!! We have been rushing like crazy to get everything ready to make sure everything goes down perfectly. That is also the big fokus again this week. Also its Nyår this week and Danmark is just crazy about fireworks. Ill definitely have to send some sort of video next week cuz its the bomb! (haha punny) Anyway, I hope you all have another great week! Love you tons!

Glædelig Jul!‏

Merry Christmas yall!
So this week was just so crazy. It actually didnt start out to good because on Tuesday my companion totally just had a seizure that lasted like 3 minutes or so. I had never seen anyone have a seizure so it was pretty terrifying for me but luckily my lifeguarding skills finally paid off and I actually kinda knew what to do. My companion is alright now but we went to the hospital in an ambulance and he had to stay overnight to see kinda what caused it and stuff. Because of that he ended up mission the Sjælland zone konference which was the NeXT day so he went to Århus on the weekend to catch that one. I stayed here and was on splits for a couple days with one of the zone leaders.

On a happier note, We had the Ward Christmas party on Saturday which was a blast! I seriously love the Danish Christmas traditions. One thing they do is dance around the Christmas tree (yes exactly like on the grinch!) and run all of the house and its a blast! There are a ton of traditions like that though and its just so fun!

Speaking of Christmas though, I should be skyping home around 6-8 yalls time. Sorry thats kinda a big window. Have a great Christmas though! Love you tons!

The Three Wisemen at the Christmas Party

December 14, 2015

This week has been pretty great. We have been doing a ton of christmas stuff which has been a lot of fun. Our investigator Lise has been doing great. She brought her 7 year old daughter Charlotte to church yesterday and to the Christmas concert we had this past week and they both really enjoyed it. Last time we met she said that she was just so overwhelmed after church (the first time she went) she really got emotional because the spirit was so strong. She said that it is definitely something she wants to continue coming to. She has also said that things have just been falling into place since we've been meeting and she has really gained a ton of answers to questions and stuff. We actually invited her to baptism for January 2nd and she said yes but would like to pray about it. So its set as kind of a goal for her right now but could change. But she is doing super great and the ward has just been really great in getting to know her (Which has truly been a miracle because the ward hasnt been super great at doing that). So its been awesome getting to teach her the past couple weeks.

Thank you guys for the prayers on my behalf. It really makes a difference. Have a great week and Ill talk to yall soon!

Hey Yall! To start I want to give a big shout out to my Grandma Pike. Tillykke med fødselsdag!! I love you tons!!

This week was pretty solid. We have been teaching a lady named Lise lately and she is super positive! We knocked into her using Family history but then she said that she was actually looking for a church as well. Great! We provide those services too! So we have been teaching her and yesterday she came to church and loved it! The members were super great as well and really helped her out and stuff. We hope to invite her to baptism this week! I just love how much she loves learning about the gospel.

I guess the best part about the past couple weeks is that I have really been focusing on praying for miracles. Both weeks now I have seen small miracles happen almost everyday and we have really been blessed with a lot of success. I know that God hears and answers prayers and I am just so grateful to be here in Denmark on a mission to share that knowledge with others and see that change their lives as well.

Love you Guys tons! Have another great week!

Attitude of Gratitude‏

Hey Guys! I am way glad it was a good turkey weekend!
So another transfer has gone by and I am staying here in Køge with Elder Thurman so nothing crazy there. We have really had a successful week this week though and seen a lot of miracles. I have truly been humbled this week to really see the lords hand in the Work and in my life this week. We started teaching several more people this week including a girl named Sofie. A couple weeks ago we knocked on her door but she said she was busy and wasnt really interested. So we kept on knocking and as we were knocking the last door of the opgang she ran Down and asked for a pamphlet or something. We gave it to her and went on our way. Well a couple weeks later we finally caught her home Again and it was basically the same thing. She said she read a Little from the pamphlet, but was busy and honestly didnt really sound to interested in meeting. So we left kind of bummed but a few hours later she randomly called us and said she really wanted to meet as soon as possible. We made an appointment for a couple days later (because it was late that night and the zone training was the Next day) but anyways, we met and it went really great! She told us that the first day we knocked on her door she had been in the folke kirke in køge and had prayed to know what church was the true church. Then less than 3 hours later we knocked on the door! It was really a humbling experience for me too just knowing that the Lord trusts us to teach her the gospel.

We also got to go Down to this town called Faxe Ladeplads and it was such a beautiful drive. We really got to just drive all throughout the Danish Countryside and see all the windmills and stuff. We also just randomly found 2 Castles as well! But ya it really just made me feel really grateful to be here in Denmark and really live in the moment a Little bit. For me it was not a coincidence that Thanksgiving was this week because it really just helped me to see the small miracles everyday, live in the moment and have an attitude of gratitude.

Love you Guys tons! Have another great week!

Vikings

Hey yall! I love hearing whats going on every week! I am so excited for what is going on back home!! The move will be great!

This week was a lot of fun for me as well. We had an eating appointment with a lady named Rigmor WHO is Norwegian and speaks flat out Norwegian to us. I was super pumped because I can totally understand Norwegian!! The languages are pretty similar but the pronunciation of Words are different and there are a few Words that are the same but it was just way fun to be able to say I can also understand Norsk!

Speaking of the Nordic lands we had our distrikt activity this week and we all went to the Viking Museum in Roskilde (BTW, Roskilde was like the viking Capital almost back in the day). So that was a lot of fun.

Also we had our first snow storm here on Saturday and boy was it a doozy. We got around a foot to a foot and a half of snow in 1 day! Like seriously it was like Chaos in the streets as like every single dinky Little car was slipping and sliding all over the place, it was hilarious to Watch. They even cancelled church on Sunday because of it.

Anyways, the past couple of week we have been meeting with a couple named Samantha and Kim and they are just the greatest. They are literally some of the funnest people to meet with. They have been "investigating" for like 2 years now but havent been taught in like a year and a half before we started meeting with them Again. They have an awesome story how about how they found the church and although they have not come to church or met with missionaries for over a year, they Watch general conference, read the book of mormon and do everything mormons do. Literally the only thing different is they are not baptized yet. So they are probably are most positive people right now and we are working to get them baptized.

Anyway, you Guys have a great week!! Love you so much and thank you for all the support. It helps me so much!

Buckle up butter cup!‏

Hey yall! First off shout out to mom and dad for hitting their 23rd year of marriage! Congratulations and love you Guys tons!!

This week was pretty good. One thing thats pretty exciting is that we just got a brand new 2015 toyata hybrid and guess WHO gets to drive? ME!! It is by far the best car in the mission and the rest of the missionaries hate us right now haha. We have also been blessed with a lot of success in our area this week. We got our first few eating appointments and a bunch of potential investigators. We also have several appoinments with them this week so hopefully they will become legit investigators. Overall this was a really fun week.

I love you Guys tons! Have a great week and hakuna matata!

Sick Week

Hey yall! Im glad it was a pretty good week and a pretty good Halloween! This week I am just going to apologize now. Everyone in our Apartment have been sick literally all week so we didnt do anything. By the weekend half of us were feeling better so we kinda went on splits over the weekend but other than that we didnt do Jack. We are doing a lot better though today so we should finally be able to actually do something this week.

Sorry this was way lame but we literally did nothing. Hope yall have a great week though. Love you Guys!

October 26, 2015

This week has been a lot of fun. Køge is great! It is like a super old looking Danish city and is just way pretty. We still havent found an Apartment so we have been living with the other elders in Taastrup and just commuting there every day which takes about an hour. Me and Elder Thurman have been getting along really well. He is from Riverside California and is really into music.

I ended up getting sick this weekend which has been a total bummer and Im still trying to recover but other than that Things have been great. We go to church in Roskilde which is the biggest Ward in Denmark and its awesome!

But ya thats about it for this week. Have an awesome week!
Love,

P.S. the people are some members up in Frederikshavn (john Mutumbo, Tage , Thanus, og ´Hans Christian) then the Building is in Køge.

Crazy Week

Hey Guys! Im super glad to hear that it was an amazing week. Lindsey, Im super glad you got to get your patriarchal Blessing! Those are sooo awesome and I love reading mine.

This week has actually been pretty crazy. We spent like half the week out of our area working in Aalborg and Århus a lot. One crazy story from that though. So on Tuesday we were working in Aalborg and we literally contacted for like 9-10 hours straight... That in and of itself was pretty crappy but then me and Ældste Gardner didnt even find 1 person WHO was interested! Towards the end I was just like super mad at myself thinking like what on earth are we doing wrong?! Well as the night came to and end we still didnt find a single person. However, as we were getting close to the library where we were meeting up with all the other missionaries, an old lady walked around the corner carrying a chair and was totally having a tough time. So we offered our help and got two chairs and carried them up to the top floor where her Apartment was for her. She was super happy about it and basically long story short we taught the Whole first lesson, got her number and gave her a BOM and she is actually pretty positive so I was just thankful that our efforts werent wasted.

On thursday we had our zone training and it was awesome. President gave us live transfer calls and it was super exciting actually. Ældste Gardner will be staying in Frederikshavn (like we guessed) and he will be training another new elder himself! So that meant that I was moving (as we guessed) except it is pretty exciting. I am transferring to be with an Ældste Thurman and we are opening a Whole new area in Køge!! We dont have an Apartment Down there yet so until we get one we will be staying in with the elders in Høje Taastrup and commuting over an hour to get Down there. I also will get to be the Distrikt leader here so that will be fun. I am also getting a car for the first time on my mission which is also sick! (Also way Lucky because my bike got trashed and I just left it in Frederikshavn so ya). But ya right now we are just going to try to figure Things out but I am super stoaked and nervous at the same time but not to nervous cuz this is the lords Work so det skal nok gå. Its been fun though cuz all weekend Ive been hearing all about Køge and everybody is just so jealous that we are opening it up haha.

Anyway, thats about all for this week. Have another great week! Love you tons!

Zone Training - Learning How to Deal with Stress

October 12, 2015

Hey yall! Im glad to hear things have been going good. This week there isnt a ton of stuff to write about. Nothing to crazy going on other than just trying to contact a bunch of potentials we got this past week.

One thing that was kinda out of the ordinary this week was we had a choir concert that our branch put on with the folkekirke so we had to sing in that. It was pretty good but I will just say that we were by far the youngest people there by like a good 40 years. The good news was though is they made like 50 cakes and expected all these old folk to eat all of it (which of course they didnt even get close) so we got like sooooo much cake to take home 8)))

This week we will be on splits in Aalborg for like 3 days and then we find out about transfers so it should be exciting. Im sorry this email is way lame. I promise Ill start taking notes on interesting things that happen from now on.

One neat thing I read this week though was in Jacob 2:8 where Jakob is chewing out all the men for cheating on their wives and stuff so this scripture is referring to the wives: 'And it supposeth me that they have come up hither to hear the pleasing word of God, yea the word which healeth the wounded soul.' I thought this was way sweet because all of the internal wounds we have can be healed though the word of God and the gospel. And just to strengthen Jakobs credibility here remember, Jakob was also a bit of a victim to persecution from Lamen and Lemuel and went through many trials with that in the wilderness and he is telling us that the word of God will heal our wounded souls. Way awesome! So ya there the spiritual though of the week! Have a great week! Love you tons!

Generalkonference‏

Hey yall! Glad to hear it was a great conference weekend! I will just say that that was probably the best General Conference I have ever seen. Funny story with that though, so everybody in my distrikt had like a 'draft' pick of who we thought the new apostles would be and I totally won by totally guessing Ronald A Rasband and Gary E Stevenson right :O it was sick. haha But on a more serious note I will just say that my testimony of a living prophet and the apostles has never been stronger. I know that they are called of God to lead the church.

Anyway, this week the biggest thing that happend was that all 8 missionaries from our distikt came up and blitzed our area. It was a huge help and a miracle too as we found 24 new potential investigators! So ya things have been a ton of fun and have been going well here this last week.

One of my favorite parts of Conference was when the new apostles got up to bear their testimonies. One thing that Ill just comment on today that struck me (there were just to many awesome things I cant write about all of them:) Gary E. Stevenson said dont focus on what we cant do but focus on what we can do. I thought that was awesome just because that is what I think a lot of times is that I cant do this or that or whatever and I end up really limiting myself from being great. When we just take a step back, start with the things we can do then God will qualify us to do things we never thought was possible.

Hope yall have an awesome week. I love you guys so much. and I pray for you guys everyday. Have a great week and vi ses next week!
Love,
Ældste Pike

Hirtsholmene‏

Hey yall! So this week was pretty good. On Wednesday we had a zone conference which are always fun. Just being able to see all the other missionaries and stuff is just such a blast. Also we had like a training on the doctrine of Repentance and it was so bomb!

On Saturday we got to take a little boat out to this little island right off the coast of Frederikshavn called Hirtsholmene. We got to go up the lighthouse and things like that and see all the little houses and stuff so that was kinda cool. Theres actually like 6ish people that live there too so that was interesting. Other than that nothing too crazy.

BTW, I read two awesome talks this week that everyone should read.
and...

Count that as a spiritual thought for this week :)
Have a great week! Love
